Jackie Schwartz, a licensed marriage and family therapist practicing in South Florida with extensive training and experience, is skilled at working with clients seeking relief from crippling negative-thinking patterns that prevent them from functioning at their best. She also helps clients strive towards happiness, personal growth and the desire to know one’s true self. Ms. Schwartz works with all populations conducting individual, family, couples and group psychotherapy.
Ms. Schwartz caters her work to meet the needs of each client combined with evidence- based modalities. She also believes in holistic treatment modalities and advocates that maintaining a healthy lifestyle plays an integral role in maintaining a successful life with optimum functionality. At times, Ms. Schwartz utilizes rational emotive therapy (RET), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behaviorism, mindfulness-based therapy, experiential therapy and the 12-step recovery model. She strongly believes in the power of perception and positive thinking. Additionally, her belief is that we not only treat specific behaviors, but identify underlying core issues, lifestyle choices, family dynamics and one’s environmental influences.
Ms. Schwartz has worked in diverse treatment settings, such as community-based mental health, residential and partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient therapy programs. Shed now dedicates herself to private practice. Her special interests include, but are not limited to, familial challenges (marital, family, co-parenting differences, parent-child conflicts), interpersonal struggles (communication skills, conflict resolution, enhancing the quality of relationships), addictions (substance abuse, relapse prevention, co-dependence, eating challenges/disorders), mental health disorders (anxiety, depression) and stress management (educational, occupational).
Ms. Schwartz received her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University and has completed her training for Masters-level certification as an addiction professional.
