Alyssa Weiss Quittner, PhD, a licensed marriage and family therapist, works with individuals, families and couples. Her special interests include but are not limited to working with individuals and their families with autism and autism spectrum disorders, parenting challenges, anxiety, adjustment issues, postpartum depression, depression, trauma, eating disorders and relationship difficulties.
Dr. Quittner conducts psychotherapy with individuals across the life span (Ages 4 – seniors). She provides family support and counseling services to assist families in coping strategies to help form and maintain positive family relationships. Her master’s degree in early childhood special education gives her the knowledge and skills needed to educate parents so that they may assist their children who have special needs.
Dr. Quittner presents at National and International conferences on anxiety and psychological trauma. She is also a professor in the Graduate Program at Northwestern University. In addition, she serves as a supervisor of Master’s-level students in a University Clinic setting. Dr. Quittner is a clinical member of the American Council Association and American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
Dr. Quittner holds a B.A. in Sociology from Brandeis University, an MS.Ed in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Miami, and a Ph.D in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. She is a certified Snoezelen therapist and a certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
