Libby Andress is a licensed clinical social worker in South Florida with extensive training and experience in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and families. She specializes in helping individuals cope with anger, anxiety, depression, and attention deficit disorders. Ms. Andress assists children, adolescents and adults experiencing eating disorders, substance abuse, self-cutting, and other issues. These issues include individuals and families with grief, relationship difficulties, divorce, job loss, and other financial stresses. Ms. Andress has led numerous therapy groups enabling clients to build self esteem, create positive social skills, and reduce family and peer conflicts. She also works closely with parents to strengthen their limit setting and conflict resolution abilities. Ms. Andress is also skilled at working with couples in improving and enhancing their relationships as well as helping them with more effective communication skills.

Ms. Andress has worked and trained in a variety of settings both in the public and private sector. She has been fortunate to also work with multicultural clients and has honed in on the importance of this sensitivity when working with these individuals. Ms. Andress has worked in private practice and in a psychiatric unit of University Hospital while in South Florida. In the Northeast, her dedication included working at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and several outpatient mental health centers in New York City. She has also completed further training in dialectic behavioral therapy, psychodynamic play therapy, and in the treatment of oppositional adolescents.

Ms. Andress received her bachelor of social work from Wheelock College in Boston. She completed her master’s of social work at Fordham University in New York. Additionally, Ms. Andress spent two years in advanced training at New York’s Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, where she received her certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Through her undergraduate and graduate education, she completed several internships working with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric clients.
